Last updated: October 2026. This policy explains which personal data we process when you visit this website or submit a comment, and which rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Controller
NaturKultur e.V., Hermann-Prüser-Str. 4, 28237 Bremen, Germany. Email: [email protected], phone +49 (0)421 5263-1860.
2. Hosting and server logs
When you visit the site, the web server temporarily processes technical data (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser type) for security and stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Server logs are deleted after a short period by the hosting provider.
3. Cookies and local storage
We use only the cookies and browser storage described in our Cookie Policy. Strictly necessary items are always active. Functional items (your bookmarks and remembered comment details) are used only if you consent. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we load no external fonts or scripts.
4. Comments and suggestions
Under every article you may send us a comment or suggestion. For that we process your first name, last name, organisation, email address, job title, your comment text, the time of submission and a pseudonymised (hashed) form of your IP address used only to prevent abuse and spam.
- Purpose: receiving your feedback and, after moderation, publishing it under the article.
- Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by ticking the consent box before sending. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Publication: if a comment is approved, your first name, last name, organisation, job title and comment are displayed publicly. Your email address is never published.
- Moderation: comments are reviewed by site administrators and may be approved or rejected. Rejected and pending comments are not visible to the public.
- Storage period: until you ask us to delete the comment or the article is removed; rejected comments are deleted regularly.
5. Email
When a comment is submitted, our website may send a notification email to the site administrators through our mail (SMTP) provider. Your data is not passed on for any other purpose.
6. Sharing buttons
The share buttons are plain links. No data is sent to social networks unless you click one; after that, the privacy policy of that network applies.
7. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. To exercise them, write to [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen.
8. Changes
We may update this policy when the website or the law changes. The current version is always available on this page.
